SOLD OUT: Ravinia Festival with Pink Martini
DATE: Wednesday, July 1, 2015
TIME: 5:00 - 10:30
LOCATION: Pavilion, Ravinia Festival
THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT!
International sensation, Pink Martini, was co-founded by two Harvard Alums, China Forbes & Thomas Lauderdale, both AB'92. It features a dozen musicians who perform its multilingual repertoire on
concert stages and with symphony orchestras throughout Europe, Asia,
Greece, Turkey, the Middle East, Northern Africa, Australia, New
Zealand, South America and North America.
The concert will highlight Aimee Mann, whose latest album Charmer, is as fine a chronicler of the human comedy as popular music has produced.
Also performing are The von Trapps,
the next generation - the great-grandchildren of Captain and Maria
von Trapp, who are reinventing the legacy of their birthright for the modern
age. For the past few years, The von Trapps have been frequent guest
performers with Pink Martini, the globetrotting pop sensation. The two groups collaborated on Pink Martini’s eighth studio album, Dream a Little Dream.
Before the concert, in an exclusive Harvard tent, enjoy food, beverages and a conversation with Ravinia Festival CEO Welz Kauffman. More details to follow.
