The Picasso and Chicago Show opened recently at the Art Institute (AIC) to rave reviews. The AIC is having a museum-wide celebration of that artist and his influence. As part of that celebration, the AIC is marking the 100th Anniversary of the 1913 Armory show, which brought European modern art to America for the first time. 

Liz McGoey is a Research Associate in the Department of Medieval to Modern European Painting and Sculpture at the AIC and has worked with curator Stephanie D’Alessandro on the Picasso exhibition. She has held positions at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and now the Art Institute of Chicago.
