Margaret McCurry (FAIA LF ’87) will moderate a panel discussion with three former Loeb Fellows, regarding their proactive efforts in the arenas of social cause and the environment. The panel includes:

John Syvertsen (FAIA LF ’86), is Senior Principal at Cannon Design and is the leader of the firm’s environmental sustainability and community outreach efforts.

Bill Klein (AICP LF ’91), is the Director of Research and Advisory Services of the American Planning Association and has focused on solar and wind energies, protection of habitat, water resources and cultural landscapes.

Mary Eysenbach (LF ’05) is Director of Conservatories For the Chicago Park District. which includes the Garfield Park and Lincoln Park Conservatories. She writes and speaks about green space planning and is currently working on developing a special area at Garfield Park to introduce children to the natural world so they acquire a respect for their environment.

The Loeb Fellowship is awarded by the Graduate School of Design (GSD) to accomplished practitioners. For one academic year, they take classes at the GSD and throughout Harvard’s vast network of professional and academic schools. They read, write, talk with professors, mentor students and expand their horizons. Their goals: to become better at their craft, to strengthen their leadership skills, and to change the world with their unique perspectives.
