The Harvard men's hockey team has had one of the best seasons in recent history. With a strong core group of players and an outstanding senior class, the team garnered a trip to the NCAA tournament, which opens this weekend in South Bend, Indiana.  After a fantastic season (spent nearly a month in the top 5) they won the ECAC championship last weekend, defeating #17 ranked Yale in a 3 game series in New Haven and then #11 ranked Quinnipiac and #16 ranked Colgate in the ECAC final four in Lake Placid.  On Saturday, 9th-seeded Harvard opens the NCAA tournament against 8th-seeded Nebraska Omaha.

The team is led by Junior sensation Jimmy Vesey, who is second in the nation in points with 31 goals and 26 assists. Vesey was voted ECAC and Ivy League player of the year and is one of 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker award for best player in the nation. He is a draft choice of the Nashville Predators. Rounding out the attack is senior defenseman Patrick McNally, a draft choice of the Vancouver Canucks and All-ECAC pick, and senior goaltender Steve Michalek, a draft choice of the Minnesota Wild.

Coach Donato and staff have done a fantastic job working through injuries and other difficulties to get the team this far!!
