A Lecture by Mikyoung Kim, MLA '92, of Mikyoung Kim Design
February 23, 2015

Fullerton Hall—entry at Michigan Avenue only
Admission is free; seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Drawing from a diverse educational background in sculpture, art history, and concert piano, as well as a graduate degree in landscape design from Harvard Graduate School of Design, Mikyoung Kim of Mikyoung Kim Design has developed a vibrant aesthetic that blurs the boundaries between art, landscape, and performance. Over 20 years, she has crafted an exceptional body of work in Asia, the Middle East, and the US, including projects at the Chicago Botanic Garden, University of Chicago LAB School, and the Crown Sky Garden at the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital.

At the end of Kim’s lecture, Maria Smithburg, Architecture & Design Society board member and founder of Artemisia Landscape Design, joins the designer in a discussion of her work.
