Their positions required swift, decisive, and creative action to avert a second Great Depression and preserve the global economy. Join Paulson as he interviews Geithner about his book, Stress Test: Reflections on Financial Crises, including the key players, political battles, and events that continue to shape the US and global financial system today.

The Honorable Timothy F. Geithner served as the 75th secretary of the US Department of the Treasury from 2009 to 2013. He previously served as president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York , director of the Policy Development and Review Department at the International Monetary Fund, and under secretary of the treasury for international affairs, under Secretaries Robert E. Rubin and Lawrence H. Summers. He is now president of Warburg Pincus in New York. He holds an AB from Dartmouth College and an MA from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

The Honorable Henry M. Paulson, Jr. is the chairman of The Paulson Institute at the University of Chicago, founded in 2011. Previously, he served under President George W. Bush as the 74th secretary of the Treasury from July 2006 to January 2009. Prior to the Treasury Department, Paulson had a 32 year career at Goldman Sachs, serving as chairman and chief executive officer since the firm’s initial public offering in 1999. Previously, he was a member of the White House Domestic Council, serving as staff assistant to the president, and as staff assistant to the assistant secretary of defense at the Pentagon. He holds an AB from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard University.

Signed copies of Geithner’s book, Stress Test: Reflections on Financial Crises, will be available for purchase before and after the program.
