Join us Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 5:30 pm at McDermott, Will & Emery to hear a distinguished panel of Chicago not for profit education leaders discuss the topic of Chicago education.  They will discuss their views of the challenge, how their organizations are developing ways to respond, and ways both government and other civic organizations can collaborate to achieve progress.

All graduates of the Harvard Business School Strategic Perspectives for Non-Profit Managers, these visionary leaders are focused on the continued educational advancement of the Chicago region.

Learn about successful strategies, continued challenges and lessons learned.

Panel members include:

Josh Anderson, Executive Director for Teach for America's Chicago Region.  TFA is the national teacher corps of college graduates and professionals who commit to teach for two years and raise student achievement in public schools.


Brian Brady, Executive Director of Mikva Challenge, an organization that prioritizes the development of civic leadership in underserved Chicago high school youth.  The focus is on developing the next generation of civic leaders. 

Sandee Kastrul, Executive Director of IC Stars, which provides opportunities for inner-city young adults to harness the strength of the Internet economy for social and economic empowerment.

Christine Poorman, Executive Director for the Chicago office of Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship.  Entrepreneurship education is a tool that can equip young people to not only start businesses and create jobs, but also to be opportunity-focused, flexible employees read to fill existing jobs. 

Greg White, President & CEO, LEARN Charter School Network, a network of College Prep Elementary Schools.

The panel will be moderated by Duffy Adelson, President, Merit School of Music, which provides high quality music education, and a focus on the whole child.
