SOLD OUT! Volunteer Day at the Greater Chicago Food Depository

Date: Saturday, November 9, 2013
Time:11:30am - 4:30pm
Location: Greater Chicago Food Depository
4100 W 42nd Place, Chicago

The Harvard Club of Chicago and Harvard Business School Club of Chicago invite all Harvard alumni/ae and their families to join them in a day of learning and service at the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

We will hear how the GCFD provides nutritious food to 150 thousand people every day.  And after a complementary lunch (donated by fellow HBS grad and GCFD Board Member Bob Cummings) we will spend about three hours preparing food for distribution to the needy throughout the Chicago area.  As we move into the holiday season, this event will allow us to give back to the community, and help those less well-off than we are.  This event is open to adults and children (5 years and older), and is sure to be one of the more memorable events of the year.

Vounteer activities include tasks such as repackaging bulk dry goods, labeling and packing canned goods, sorting and packaging produce, and preparing bags of food for distribution to schools for children.
